The world of sculpture opened up to me about ten years ago when I was introduced to a welding torch and steel strips by another Los Angeles artist. From him I learned about the strength and beauty of such a seemingly cold and restrictive medium. I found myself exploring basic shapes and juxtapositions and learning about reductionism of the concrete. For me, it was a change. It was about simplifying life instead of complicating it. I found a path to "Focus" through my work in steel and aluminum. Though usually minimal, architectural and abstract, the work also incorporates the conceptual and spiritual through words and original text.
